ANESTHESIA OPERATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND BENCHMARKING
A. Survey the Anesthesia Department and present the survey results in a Power Point format with the initial financial benchmarking
data during the on-site consultation (this is assuming that the surveys are submitted to GCC in a timely manner);
B. Participation in teleconferences to facilitate the on-site consultation;
C. Confirm the appropriate anesthesia staffing for hospital utilizing GCC’s Staffing Grid;
D. Evaluate the current and proposed anesthesia coverage provided by the anesthesia group to hospital and present a fair- market value determination that will provide the basis for a legal opinion for the anesthesia services as compared to MGMA and AAA data;
E. Review the Financial Analysis Report for correctness prior to its formalization;
F. Deliver the Financial Analysis Reports in a timely manner based on the completeness and timelessness of data received.
The primary factors that would delay this project are receiving the RFI late in the process with data that is incorrect, incomplete, or in
need of normalization. Once the report is delivered, all revisions and teleconferences beyond the first review will be billed at the
hourly rate.
STRATEGIES FOR PERIOPERATIVE REFORM
A. Survey the perioperative stakeholders and present the survey results in a PowerPoint format with the initial financial benchmarking data during the on-site consultation (this is assuming that the surveys are submitted to GCC in a timely manner);
B. Participation in teleconferences to facilitate the on-site consultation;
C. Interview the perioperative department stakeholders during the on-site consultation and introduce them to the concept of an
Action Plan utilizing GCC’s best practices;
D. Interview perioperative stakeholders and incorporate all perioperative flow issues into the PowerPoint to be presented at the
Exit Summation;
E. Review the Excel Action Plan Worksheet;
F. Deliver GCC’s Strategies for Perioperative Reform in a reproducible document.
STRATEGIC PLANNING RETREAT
A. Survey the group members/associates and create a presentation that will assist with strategic planning;
B. Furnish workbooks to organize the thought process (optional);
C. Facilitate one and a half day retreat
a. Introduce strategic planning concepts: where are we, where are we going, and how do we get there?
b. Development of group’s mission, vision, and guiding principles
c. Lead the participants through a series of exercises to begin the process of developing an action plan
d. Fully develop at least one issue in the action plan
e. Furnish GCC’s Action Plan template for continued development of action and business plan
D. Be available after the retreat as a resource.
